Some vegetables are best eaten raw. Tomato and salad are among them. Carrot would be a nice companion too.

Raw vegetables taste good. Try to have some grated carrot, sliced tomatoes and some salad leaves to accompany your dishes. The carrot itself tastes sweet and when it comes with tomatoes and salad, the richness of the taste will make your dish perfect.

Sometimes when we cook the vegetables, we are incline to overcook and this will flush away all the goodness of nutrients from the vegetables. That's why we are recommended to eat just raw vegetables to preserve all the goodness in them.

They are rich in vitamins and minerals too. We may still remember how our mother and teacher keep telling us to eat them as they are good for health. All of these are things that your body needs to function properly and the raw vegetables will help to take care of our body.

Dulu saya pernah berjanji untuk menceritakan kebaikan belajar di Finland. Hari ini biar saya tambah sedikit sebanyak kebaikan belajar di sini sebagai panduan kepada anda semua.

Finland tidak mempunyai rakyat yang ramai. Jadi kos pendidikan tinggi di sini adalah percuma. Bagi yang berminat belajar perubatan, farmasi dan kejuruteraan di peringkat Sarjana Muda anda cuma perlu menguasai bahasa Finnish dan kemudian mengambil entrance exam untuk mengikuti kursus-kursus tersebut. Sebagai contoh, seorang rakan dari Pakistan mengambil inisiatif sendiri belajar bahasa Finland dan kemudiannya mengambil peperiksaan kemasukan untuk Sarjana Muda Farmasi.

Bagi yang berminat menyambung pembelajaran di peringkat Masters atau PhD pula, anda digalakkan ke sini kerana yuran pengajian juga tidak dikenakan. Jika bernasib baik, kemungkinan anda ditawarkan kerja di lab dan mendapat elaun bulanan.

Anda juga akan dilindungi oleh skim insurans sosial KELA jika anda memohon (sekiranya anda bekerja). Dengan insurans ala Perkeso ni dapatlah diskaun untuk beli ubat, masuk hospital dan lain-lain.

Kenapa saya ceritakan semua ini? Sebabnya tidak ramai rakyat Malaysia yang memohon untuk belajar di Finland. Yang ramai di sini ialah warga Pakistan, Afrika, China, Korea dan lain-lain. Jika mereka ingin melanjutkan pelajaran ke negara Eropah yang lain seperti United Kingdom misalnya terpaksa membayar yuran pengajian sekurang-kurangnya 10,000 Pound untuk peringkat Masters. Belum dicampur dengan perbelanjaan sara hidup.

Jadi bagi yang tidak berjaya mendapat tajaan kerajaan atau Biasiswa JPA, peluang anda untuk belajar di luar negara masih terbuka dengan memilih Finland. Cuma minta ibu ayah anda sediakan wang sara hidup sahaja. Bila dah kerja jangan lupa bayar balik ya. :)

Kerajaan Malaysia pun patut menghantar lebih ramai pelajar tajaan Mara atau JPA ke sini kerana dapat menjimatkan kos.

Betul seperti yang disebut-disebut, keluarga dan anak-anak adalah pintu yang membuka rezeki. Bila kita berkeluarga dan mempunyai anak, rezeki akan bertambah murah dan datang dengan tidak disangka-sangka.

Kerajaan akan memperkenalkan skim simpanan persaraan 1Malaysia bagi golongan yang tiada berpencen atau mencarum dalam Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP). Mereka yang terbabit ialah golongan yang bekerja sendiri dan tiada pendapatan tetap.

Perdana menteri berkata, bagi setiap RM100 caruman, kerajaan akan memberi sumbangan sebanyak 5 peratus, tertakluk kepada jumlah maksimum RM60 setahun.

Katanya, sumbangan kerajaan itu hanyalah untuk tempoh lima tahun dan merupakan tambahan kepada dividen sedia ada KWSP.

"Sebagai contoh, sekiranya seorang nelayan berumur 35 tahun membuat carumah RM100 sebulan secara konsisten selama 20 tahun, beliau akan mempunyai simpanan terkumpul RM40,000 pada umur 55 tahun," katanya.

Bagaimanapun, kata perdana menteri, caruman ini tidak boleh dikeluarkan awal, tetapi hanya pada usia 55 tahun.

"Awat Faiz tak mai masjid bagitau nak ke Finland. Boleh salam-salam minta maaf dan minta halal lebih-kurang," said Hj Salleh to my father.

My greatest regret so far is not able to mention our journey to Finland to my kampung folks. Things going to fast. I really hope I could see them and explain everything when we are going back for holiday December next year.

Perhaps a kenduri Akikah for Mikael, going to masjid and doing some visits would be nice for the redemption.

Deeply sorry.

Summer has ended. Autumn looks to end. And now in Kuopio we are looking forward for snowy winter. The affair that bonds us with the summer is no way can be described. It was full with love, fun and excitement. The foods were good. The abundance of fruits is everywhere. And the sensation of sun is unreal.

Because of the plenty of fruits in the summer, the autumn is meant for more creative way to indulge with the different taste of fruits. Here it comes for fruits jelly. And our most favorite fruits jelly is definitely strawberry and cherry jelly.

The taste of the jelly is subtle. A combined hint of sweet and sour from these fruits is again similar to our affair with summer. Full of love, fun and excitement.

Dee, seorang arkitek terlatih dari Pulau Pinang, Malaysia kini terpaksa bekerja sebagai pencuci pinggan di sebuah restoran Cina di tengah London yang juga seorang mangsa berkata, 'hak kerakyatan di Britain bukanlah sesuatu yang nyata'.

"Saya telah menjadi seorang pendatang haram. Sebenarnya lebih teruk kerana mereka sekurang-kurangnya ada negara untuk mereka pulang, tetapi saya tidak,'' katanya yang berusia 34 tahun kepada AFP.

Satu klausa undang-undang memberikan penduduk Pulau Pinang dan Melaka status Kerakyatan Luar Negara Britain (BOC) apabila Malaysia mencapai kemerdekaan pada tahun 1957.

Etnik Cina di dua negeri itu yang juga sebahagian tanah jajahan Britain di Tanah Melayu atau Malaya, yang sentiasa berhati-hati terhadap diskriminasi di bawah sebuah negara yang didominasi masyarakat Melayu Islam, diberi jaminan mereka boleh mengambil jalan keluar dengan menetap di Britain.

Kesannya, ramai individu dengan status BOC termasuk Dee melepaskan kerakyatan Malaysia satu proses yang sangat sukar untuk diundurkan semula.

"Saya telah mengisi borang untuk melepaskan kerakyatan Malaysia dan pasport saya telah dipotong. Saya juga telah diberitahu pegawai Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di sini bahawa saya bukan lagi warga negara Malaysia.

"Apa yang membuatkan situasi bertambah buruk, kerajaan Britain masih menganggap kami rakyat Malaysia, sedangkan Malaysia menyatakan kami bukan lagi rakyatnya. Ini tidak masuk akal,'' katanya.

Made it once a few months ago. Right now having some thought of making it again. Most of the ingredients are at home. Just need to buy some phyllo dough. Pretty nice to serve for tea time.

One nice thing to do in Finland is to go out and pick some fresh mushrooms. Chanterelles is one of many mushroom species in Finland It is yellowish to brownish in colour and taste great because the tenderness and meaty structure.

Let see some information about this mushroom from Wikipedia.

It is orange or yellow, meaty and funnel-shaped. On the lower surface, underneath the smooth cap, it has gill-like ridges that run almost all the way down its stipe, which tapers down seamlessly from the cap. It has a fruity smell, reminiscent of apricots and a mildly peppery taste (hence its German name, Pfifferling) and is considered an excellent food mushroom. Up to 6.7% of their tissues is vitamin С; as for carotene, they can be as much as 23.1 %, surpassing all known mushrooms.

Though some people like to have some nice time foraging for this mushroom in the bush, we are just buying it at the city center. After you clean it, stir fry until no more juices and add some eggs along with a pint of salt and white pepper. Enjoy!

Though I am a very bad saver and more inclined to spend rather than save but luckily I still managed to save some from my paychecks in ASB and Bank Persatuan.

In my yesteryears I love to shop and eating out with friends. Mael, Sham, Aie, RM, Farid and Cikgu Zaidi maybe smiling reading this. But now after having family I find that I am more cautious about spending unnecessarily and rather help my wife doing some cooking and indulge ourselves with our home cooking and spending quality time at home.

Back to the story. Setiap tahun dalam bulan Ogos dan Disember saya tak sabar menunggu dividen Bank Persatuan dan ASB yang akan diumumkan. Selalunya Bank Persatuan beri 10% dividen. Dua tahun lepas they are quite generous and giving shareholders around 12.5%. So if you have RM1,000 in Bank Persatuan share, u are entitled to have a handsome dividends of RM125.

But I am a bit concerned about ASB. Nowadays they are giving around 8.00% only. I really hope PNB can do some goodwill this year and hands out 10% of dividens. And I think many are praying same wishes like me. :)

Hari terakhir Ramadhan yang lalu saya sempat ke City Center untuk beli novel. At least Ijan dapat baca kalau ada masa terluang di hospital. Lagipun internet mungkin tak ada dalam bilik dan tv tak banyak cerita yang menarik sangat.

The Lost Symbol tu more for me. Once In A Life Time tentunya untuk Ijan. So far saya dah habiskan separuh buku Dan Brown tu. Maybe dua tahun lagi keluarlah filem dia. Pandai betul Dan Brown cari duit. At lest 5 millions copies of this book were printed to meet the demand.

Buku Cathy Kelly pula sesuai sangat untuk peminat love story. Bahasa yang dia guna pun sangat mudah difahami dan sesuai untuk semua. Dia dah menulis 11 buku dan most of them are best sellers.

Saya juga mendaftar sebagai Usana Associate semalam. Ramai yang cakap vitamins dan supplements dari Usana bagus. Semalam sempat jugalah Mikael try baju sejuk dia. Outing pertama kami bertiga. Dapat juga Mikael merasa kesejukan Autumn walaupun outing kami adalah untuk ke hospital.

Terima kasih pada Nurse Helena sebab susah-payah tolong hantar kami ke hospital. Kebetulan dia datang ke rumah hari ini untuk lawatan pemeriksaan oleh Nurse di rumah. Jadi bila dia tengok keadaan ruam Mikael dan suspek ada jangkitan bakteria terus hantar kami untuk dapatkan rawatan di hospital.

Baju sejuk Mikael pun berbelang juga. Stripey sweater. :)

Banyak pula baju Mikael berbelang-belang. Warna pula terang-terang. Kalau dah kenyang bolehlah berposing macam ni. Menangis pun tak. Tapi kalau nak tukar nappy dan baju satu apartment boleh dengar.

My instinct keeps telling me that our baju raya will not arrive on time. Perhaps three of us should wear something berbelang-belang for this raya. And after the parcel arrive we could have a picture of us wearing that baju raya, After all Syawal sebulan kan. :)

Insya-allah this year will be the first Aidilfitri for three of us together. Will be at the mosque early to perform Solat Sunat Hari Raya and listen to the sermon. Hopefully they will give a piece of sermon in English so that more people could understand.

Berita Gembira Untuk Pelajar STAM

Mulai tahun depan pelajar yang mengambil Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) layak memohon ke IPTA. Sebelum ini semua pelajar STAM hanya dapat menggunakan sijil STAM untuk memohon ke Al-Azhar dan universiti-universiti di Timur Tengah.

Secara purata setiap tahun 4,500 calon menduduki peperiksaan STAM serentak dengan peperiksaan STPM. Jadi selepas ini pelajar STAM mempunyai pilihan lebih meluas iaitu melanjutkan pelajaran ke luar negara atau memohon ke IPTA tempatan.

Kesimpulannya sijil STAM kini setaraf dengan STPM.

Losing Weight During Ramadhan

Before Ramadhan my weight was at 74 kg. Now it is 69 kg. So far I shed 5 kg. I feel great and lighter. :)

There are seven days to go before Ramadhan flies away. Will measure again soon.

Hopefully can maintain current weight though no more Ramadhan.

Seminggu nak raya tak terasa kemeriahannya sangat seperti di Malaysia. Kalau tak ada aral melintang baju raya sempat sampai. Kalau tidak mungkin berbaju raya selepas hari raya pertama. Tahun ini bolehlah ambil gambar hari raya bertiga. Seronok tak terkata.

Terima kasih untuk isteri tersayang atas hadiah birthday. Tak mengharapkan apa-apa pun sempena birthday kerana dah dapat hadiah paling "istimewa" iaitu anakanda tersayang Mikael Bin Zul Faizuddin.

Selendang dan vest tersebut bolehlah di pakai untuk menghadapi musim luruh dan salji yang sangat terkenal sejuknya di Finland ni. Sebab itulah Kimi Raikkonen digelar "Ice Man" sebab berasal dari Finland.

Di rumah rasa lebih seronok berbanding dengan hospital. Insya-allah akan update some pictures of us at home soon. Hari ini makan ikan salmon bakar, kambing black pepper, sup sayur dan cucur udang.

Cerita cucur udang ni menjadi favourite keluarga especially arwah ayah setiap kali berbuka puasa. Kalau tak ada cucur udang tak sedap katanya. Jadi mak dan mak ngah selalu akan sediakan cucur udang ni sepanjang bulan Ramadhan.

Mikael nampak relaks di rumah. Maybe seronok after 10 days at hospital.

Alhamdulillah doktor benarkan kami pulang pada hari ini. Seronok tak terhingga. Mungkin ini posting terakhir dari Kuopio University Hospital.

Balik ke rumah nanti Mikael bolehlah belajar berguling-guling atas katil sendiri pula ye.

This evening probably can cook something for three of us. Some black pepper lamb and roasted salmon with ginger perhaps. Also vegetables soup.

Start kami ke hospital 31 Ogos 2009 sampai hari ini dah seminggu bermukim. Esok doktor akan bagitau sama ada kena stay untuk 3-4 hari lagi ataupun dah boleh balik ke rumah.

So far antibiotik yang diberikan beri kesan positif. Hanya tunggu lab test untuk pastikan Mikael bebas dari sebarang infections.

Berbuka Puasa

To keep tab on my fitness I jog and walk 4 km everyday etiher in the morning or evening. Not religiously jog but just a casual one. :)

Using Nokia Sports Tracker I can record how long does it take for the exercise, distance and calories burned.

Jadi sama-samalah kita ringan-ringankan badan during this blissful Ramadan. A point lose in weight is a point gain in health.

Ramadhan In Kuopio

This year Ramadan starts at the end of summer. Sahur is around 2.00 am while Fajr is at 3.00 am. Maghrib is at 9 pm. So we are fasting like 19 hours compare to 13 hours in Malaysia.

For the first time I'm going through this Ramadan away at home but this is the second year for my wife.

Called mum at noon and it was just a few minutes before Maghrib. They were having Ramadan buffet somewhere today.

For friends and family, Mr&MrsFaiz wish all of you Ramadan Kareem. Happy fasting and may Ramadan bring bless to all of you.

Gambar-gambar makan di luar ni dah lama ambil tapi baru sempat posting hari ini. Taken at Greece Restaurant at the city center. Among our favourite dining spot in Kuopio town. The foods are great and the manager is a friendly guy too.

Mr Faiz favourite dish is seafood plater while Mrs Faiz and Mikael were more into calamary and potatoes. The pilaf rice featured in blogresipi was first tasted at this restaurant before we decide to try prepare it by ourselves at home. :)

Makanan kat sini so far sedap dan menyelerakan. Rupanya sotong goreng tepung bukan sahaja terkenal di Jepun (Tempura), di Malaysia dan Thai tapi di Greece pun ada juga versi sotong goreng tepung mereka.

BBQ At Our Place In Sarkiniemi

We were hosting a BBQ lunch yesterday. We invited some close friends of us to join the BBQ. Prepared simple dishes like marinated chicken, corns, sausages, banana cake, crayfish and prawns.

Aga and Miko came together. While Marikka, Janne and their two childrens Ukko and Helmi were also here. Essi also was there too.

Seronok rasanya dapat berkumpul dengan kawan-kawan. Masing-masing cuba menunjukkan kepakaran untuk menyalakan api. Akhirnya Miko & Aga menjadi penyelamat dengan meletak kayu-kayu kering bersama bara. Kalau tunggu saya dan Janne mengipas ketulan bara saja mungkin lebih sejam bara tak menyala. :)

Banana cake was among the favourite dish for today. Essi tried to taste the crayfish. Never try this before she told us.

We would like to thank them for attending this BBQ. Hope we can have another one next year. By that time Mikael could join Uko tasting the squid-shaped sausages.

Picking Raspberries

In Finland there are four types of berries. There are strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and cloud berry.

We are foraging for these berries for a while but unfortunately only raspberries are abundance within our area.

Cloud berries for example are way deep inside the forest.

Not doing anything much in the morning encourage us to do morning walk. Nurse said this help our baby to engage at the right position. Beside that it will help delivery process. While walking why not picking some berries right. Hand picked berries are very fresh and taste very nice. So enjoy the pictures of us picking the raspberries.

Untuk strawberry, blue berry dan cloud berry biasanya kami pick dekat City Center. Satu liter 3.00 Euro sahaja. Black Berry? Kena tunggu balik Malaysia. Lebih murah di sana. :)

About A Boy II

Yesterday again we went for an ultrasound session at the hospital. This is a complimentary ultrasound session since we already did twice before. We were requested to do this ultrasound to check the baby's weight and some related stuffs pertaining to the delivery.

Doctor confirmed that our baby is a boy. She also measure the baby's weight and as for now our baby is 3.2 kg. From the chart it seems that during the delivery our baby will be nearly 3.8 kg.

We were quite happy about this ultrasound actually. First of all, it just costs us only 26.00 Euro. Thanks for that cheap price compare to private clinic that costs us three folds. Secondly because our baby is a boy. Finally, everything seems to be normal and the baby is healthy.

Berharap sangat agar segalanya berjalan lancar dan dipermudahkan. Untuk Mikael, daddy and mama tak sabar menunggu kehadiranmu mengisi ruang dalam hati kami. :)

Conversation At Neuvola

A few days ago we also went to Neuvola for maternity check up. Here is the conversation between us and the nurse at Nuevola.

Helena, the nurse at Neuvola is very friendly and helpful. So far we were satisfied with the consultation provided by her and the doctor.

She will be retiring by the end of this year. She was in this line of job for many years and we believed she has taking care thousands of mums and new born babies.

Friends Moving Out

This is Aga and her couple Miko. They are a good friends of us. They are living here for a while but now decided to move to another place.

So we help them moving some stuff from the apartment and store. My wife managed to snap some pictures of the process.

Fortunately the weather on that day was great and the moving out process done with ease.

Stock For Berpantang Perhaps?

A good friend of us finally came by to deliver some groceries from Helsinki. As you can see there are some canned fruits such as longan, lychee and rambutan.

There are also some glutinous rice, glutinous rice flour, sago, tom yam paste and condensed milk. Also some dried food like anchovies, dried chillies and salted fish.

All these things only can be bought from Asian shops at Helsinki. So far no shops in our place selling this kind of foods.

Luckily it only cost us no more than 150 Euro.

The rations definitely can cover supply for Ramadhan, Eidulfitri and confinement (berpantang) period. Perhaps we can have a very nice time during buka puasa and I could prepare some nice dishes for her during confinement period.

Picnic At Lake

About two weeks ago we went for a picnic beside the lake behind of our apartment. This one probably the last picnic before my wife give birth.

We just packed some light refreshments for the picnic. Some bread, kaya, orange juice and ice cream.

For your information, Finland was also known as Country With Thousands Lakes. In fact around our place there are three or four lakes altogether. And that's why many of Finnish people have boat and like to picnic beside the lake since they are more familiar to lake than beach.

Living Hall

This is our living hall. Not spacious but just nice for both of us. Here will be the playground for the baby this coming winter also. Perhaps he could learn to crawl and learning his first step here too.

This sofa can transform to a bed for comfort of two persons. Maybe some other time I can post a picture or two about it.

This living hall also will be the guest room for our family and friends. We are welcoming everyone to visit us here. See you guys!

Another Ultrasound Perhaps?

My wife asked me to help her with the MRI this morning. We have to go there a little early this morning. We began MRI scanning at 7.05 am. Everything going according to the plan and we managed to settle the MRI scanning at 9.30 am and then off we go to the city center for a brunch.

For a few days we were discussing about the possibility to do another ultrasound to confirm as two of our friends encounter a mistakenly predetermined baby's sex. Things happen all the time and to be sure why not going for another ultrasound right?

Or perhaps by observing her belly shape could any one with experience in motherhood give us a hint whether our baby is a boy or girl?

In Europe, where the price of health services are sky rocketed, we only afford to do 2D ultrasound and not the 3D. The clinic charges a whooping RM1,400 for the 3D ultrasound. This is way beyond our mean so 2D ultrasound would be better. The 2D ultrasound is only Euro 65 then. Let us see the outcome next week.

The parcel has arrived. First of all we would like to thanks Che Sah for helping us with the purchase of Set Bersalin Tropical Herbs. We also thank her for gift of cute baby shirt. It is very lovely Che Sah. :)

We went to Sale to pick the parcel and everything is in a very good condition. Not to forget the requested Assam Jawa also in tip-top condition.

Doing MRI

One of best thing to do in Kuopio is helping my wife with her MRI scanning. By this application we can observe and record the development of tumor in rabbit brain. Doing MRI enlightens me about cancer research especially brain cancer. It's not easy but it's not a rocket science anyway. Furthermore, by helping her with MRI I could make her task easily especially doing labor job such as moving the rabbit from Animal Center to MRI room and giving anesthetic shots to the rabbits.

The reward after completing MRI...a nice kebab lunch at Morocco Restaurant. :)

Hamper From Kela

Last weekend we received a big hamper. The hamper is a gift for little baby. This hamper is a part of social benefits provided by Finnish Social Security (Kela).

The hamper is pretty heavy. It contains lot of baby stuffs and very nice as a starter kit for baby. There are items like snow suit, bibs, socks, comforter and sleeping bag.
Hopefully Mikael will like all the stuffs. :)

Plush Toys & Cute Little Shoe

Last week we bought some plush toys for little baby. The toys are really cute and we will put it in the baby's cot. They can accompany our baby while he sleeps.

Tigger, Bear and Rabbit will be nice for a start. Thinking of buying more in the future if Mikael like the toys.

The bargain hunting aka shopping spree continues with a very cute soft shoe for Mikael. A moo-moo shoe. Hope the shoe will keep Mikael feets worm during winter.

By the way all baby items are cute, lovely and irresistible. Have to think and really decide what to buy first and what to buy later. Otherwise we may end up buying everything. :)

Baby Need A Good Drinking Device

Having thought previously that baby only drinks milk using the bottle if mama not around. But nowadays I realized that baby also need the bottle when mama is around especially in the middle of the night.

Thats why we bought the bottle plus the bottle warmer. So we can keep the milk in the bottle and it will stay warm in the bottle warmer. So if baby like having milk at night, the milk is always ready for him.

And when mama not around, the bottle will become handy because daddy can feed little baby with the mama breast milk stored in the bottle. Just warm it for while and feed the baby.

Routine Check At Neuvola And Mikael Heartbeat

One of our things to do for the baby is going to the neuvola (clinic) for maternity check up. At the early pregnancy stage, we have the appointment with the doctor once a month. From the sixth month onwards, the routine check up become more frequent and it's every fortnight right now.

Actually the best thing is at neuvola we could hear little Mikael heartbeat. The moment can't be descibed by words.

Other than that are routine check up like taking the blood pressure, haemoglobin level and record the weight.

Other than that is listening to the opionion and advice by the doctor. My English is not very good so I prefer to listen to the chat by my wife and the doctor. Only sometimes I engaged with the conversation. :)

The next check up will be on Monday morning. Daddy will hear your heartbeat again Mikael.

Air Asia & Ryan Air For Us

Nowadays with Air Asia flying from LCCT to Stansted London, the rakyat dream to visit London have been realized. Apart of sightseing, London is the shopping heaven. So its a must for those who love travelling and shopping to visit London at least once in a life time.

This is also the opportunity for us to get some bargain because there are flights from Kuopio-Stansted-KL. Since we will going home next year, I do some research about the cheapest flight for that route and my research produced this result.

Cost of Return Flight From Kuopio to Stansted: 167.82 Euro
Cost of Return Flight Fron Stansted to KL: 896.00 Euro
Total Cost Flying Back To Malaysia: 1063.82 Euro (RM5,000 approx)
But having chance for mums, dads and grandmas hugging the little baby...priceless. :)

This a way cheaper than other airlines. So for our friends and families, we will meet you guys next year, insya-Allah.

About A Pump & A Bottle

Hi guys! Our baby will born end of August or early September. We are now caught with baby fever and started to load up some items to the shopping cart especially for our little baby.

For this posting let see the pump and the storing milk bottle that we bought recently.

Actually there are two types of pump which are manual and automated. We already asked the nurse and she confidently recommending the manual pump. I don't know why but I am pretty sure that she gave us an accurate advice based on her experience. But there is no wrong to buy the automated one since everybody have their own opinion.

The manual pump is far cheaper than the automated one. The automated pump costs more than Euro 65.00 (RM325.00) while the manual costs us only Euro 25.00

The storage milk bottle only around Euro 13.00. It's from Medela, a household name in baby's product.

Mid Summer Is Coming Very Soon

Summer in Kuopio, Finland usually celebrated by going out to town, park or just having walk at the harbor to see beautiful lake.

As today it was nearly in the middle of summer. Next Friday will be a public holiday for Finland people to celebrate the mid summer.

Shops will start to open on Sunday after the mid summer. Before this, most of the shops are closed on Sunday. So if you are planning to go shopping in Helsinki on Sunday, most probably you will end up disappointed because no business on Sunday.

Last Saturday we went out for some shopping in the city center. We came to know that there are fun fair in the city center.

One of the attraction is the merry go round. Plus the merry go round is two people standing on the top of merry go round and do some walking right there.

It was a little bit scary to see them standing and walking while the merry go round moves.

Our Baby Stroller

We are having more attentions on things to buy for baby lately. Yesterday we bought a baby stroller for our baby. Its dark brown in color and have three wheels. A good reason to buy stroller with three wheels is because it can move around easily compare to four wheels stroller. In Finland, four wheels stroller still the popular choice but three wheels strollers are getting into the sight.

The Baby Bed

Last Saturday we bought a baby bed. Our baby will be around this September, God willing. Since we don't have car here I have to carry it to the bus station and bring it back to apartment by bus.

We don't wait for long to assemble the bed. By evening the bed is ready and we placed it beside our bed in the bed room.

The baby bed is white in colour and it's look stable and durable.

Yesterday we went to see the doctor for routine check up and for the ultrasound. Alhamdulillah so far everything is normal and the baby is doing fine. Baby also seems to be healthy. We decided to have a look and the doctor say that he is a boy. :)

We will have another 4 months for preparations. We hope within that time we will manage to prepare everything for the baby.

My wife looks very happy. We hope we can be a good parent and nurture him well.

Finally We Are In Paris

Alhamdulillah we are now back from Paris. It was a great time browsing to the streets of Paris. We have some nice time at Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and The Lourve.

My wife having a long que to buy the ticket to the Eiffel Tower. We qued for two hours in the morning so that we can escape long que. But still so many eager visitors in front of us who come earlier.

In front of Notre Dame. So many people ques to get into this church. Maybe the want to see some Da Vinci codes in there.

Packing For Paris

Today we are very happy because we are busy packing bag to go for a trip to Paris. Since we are going there for just 5 days, we decided to bring just one bag for the clothes and one small backpack for camera.

Tomorrow we will catch the flight from Kuopio to Helsinki early in the morning. After a short transit, we then off to Paris from Helsinki.

We plan to visit Eiffel Tower, see Monalisa at The Lourve and a few hotspots in around Paris. There are a plenty of museums in Paris and a handful of nice gardens for picnic. I hope the trip will be a romantic and memorable to our family.

Hair Cut

Yesterday I went out for a hair cut. It was long overdue. Finally this is my new hair cut. It costs Eu23.00 or about RM108.00. It was expensive but that what they charge you for a hair cut in Finland.

Now she was 4 months pregnant. Still 5 months to go. Right now no more "loya-loya" and she can eat almost everything without throwing out.

A Visit To The Lab

Yesterday I went to the university lab to visit my wife. She was doing some experiment on the cancer cell. She still got another 3-4 years to complete the research before we go back to Malaysia.

Going Out

Yesterday I went out alone for some window shopping. Just thinking of looking some bargain for a new jacket since we are going to Paris next month. The jackets that I brought from Malaysia a few months ago might be not very suitable for spring season in the city Paris.

After that I spent some time for coffee at the cafe at the city center.

We have some free time today. So we decided to take a picture of us together. We took this picture in the kitchen area. The weather outside quit nice today and the sun shines through the windows. Today is Iskandar birthday and we wish him a Happy Birthday!
